Preston Dryliners are fully committed to training young people on two-year apprenticeships
in partnership with Preston College and Blackpool and Fylde College and the CITB.
We believe that it is essential that we play our part in helping young people gain employment and help to sustain
the Building Industry of the future.
We employ two or three young people each year on apprenticeship programmes, and many of these have
remained with the company and are part of our current workforce.
We normally recruit around May / June, so if you are interested, please contact Mr Gordon Smith.
Preston Dryliners are fully committed to ensuring all operatives are suitably skilled and are fully aware
of the Health & Safety standards that must be met whilst working on our sites.
We therefore only employ operatives who are in possession of a CSCS card, which is proof that they have attained
an NVQ in their field of plastering or internal systems, and that they have passed a Health & Safety test.
These NVQs are achieved via:
- Apprenticeships
- British Gypsum Drywall Academy
- On Site Assessment
A large majority of our operatives have also been on training courses for the following:
- PASMA - for the safe erection and use of mobile towers
- IPAF - for the operation of mobile work platforms
- Emergency First Aid
All operatives attend annual courses on the following:
- The safe erection of mobile tower scaffolds
- Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome
- Manual Handling
- Personal Protective Equipment
